Adversity made America great. The ubiquitous grinding stones of wilderness and war, sea and savage once cut a fine edge on the American people, but we have been dulled to uselessness by comfort, permissiveness, and "safe spaces". If we would make America great again, we must abandon the delusion that anyone has a right to feel safe or even to be safe. A boy becomes a man only through conflict, and only by embracing adversity and danger will we as a people become sharp and hard again.
